Calling all Book Keepers!


Experienced bookkeeper required for a busy accountancy practice based in Newmarket who offer a licensed trade specific accountancy service.


My client is a dynamic, fast growing practice. Their hard working, diligent team are in need of a new member to react to rapid business growth.


Knowledge of Sage line 50 is essential (Xero & Quickbooks knowledge is a bonus)


Up to £22k

Full Time – 40 hour week

28 days Holiday (this includes Bank Holidays)

Statutory Sick Pay


Bookkeeper Knowledge required:

  • Excel
  • Sage 50 - essential
  • Xero - helpful
  • Quickbooks – helpful


Bookkeeper Daily Tasks include:

  • Answering client phone calls to direct to the relevant individual
  • Finding any paperwork required by Stock takers
  • Back Office filing
  • Reconciliation of Director’s expense account
  • Book keeping for circa 150 clients – this consists of around 30 Practice Clients mainly any work completed Quarterly or Annually and 120 clients which are Pubs so we complete Monthly Book Keeping.
  • Book Keeping tasks:
    • Weekly Cash Sales entry
    • Post Petty cash payment receipts
    • Enter Machine income sales slips via Journals
    • Post Supplier Invoices
    • Reconcile Brewery Account using Invoices and Statements available
    • Bank Reconciliation
    • Enter Payroll report journals
    • List any missing items for client and forward to Senior Book Keeper to chase client for
